1. Who We Are

Vy2B ("we", "us", "our") operates the video-first business marketplace at vy2b.com. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this platform. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@vy2b.com.

2. What We Collect

Account data: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Profile data: Optional fields you choose to fill in — phone number, biography, avatar color.

Usage data: Listing page views, video views, saved listings, and inquiries you submit. This is used to provide analytics to sellers and to improve feed recommendations.

Uploaded content: Videos and any text you submit (listing details, questions, answers, messages). Videos are stored on our servers and served directly to users.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and a session cookie necessary for authentication. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Operate and secure your account (authentication, session management).
• Display your listings and videos to potential buyers.
• Deliver buyer inquiries and Q&A activity to sellers.
• Send transactional emails (password reset, inquiry notifications). We do not send marketing email without your explicit opt-in.
• Detect and prevent fraud and policy violations.
• Compute aggregate, anonymous platform statistics (total listings, total videos).

We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Cookies

We use a single session cookie (session) to keep you logged in. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and expires after 30 days of inactivity. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users: Your name and any public content you post (listings, Q&A answers, videos) are visible to other users of the platform.
• With buyers / sellers: When you submit an inquiry, your name, email, and message are sent to the listing owner.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
• Business transfer: If Vy2B is acquired, user data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes are kept for 7 years).

Videos you upload are deleted within 30 days of your account deletion or upon your explicit request.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under GDPR, CCPA, or applicable law:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update inaccurate data via your Profile page.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal data, so no opt-out is required — but you may contact us to confirm.

8. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard practices: HTTPS for all data in transit, PBKDF2-SHA256 password hashing, HttpOnly session cookies, and access controls. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions and will notify you of any material breach within 72 hours.

9. Children's Privacy

Vy2B is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at privacy@vy2b.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify users by email or via an in-app banner at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
